Sharon Cook didn't take a serious interest in art until the 1990's. Her mother Edna had been a portrait artist in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana back in the 1950's. Edna's medium of choice was chalk pastels which she helped Sharon to learn well.
Once her mother saw that she had an interest in art, she shared as much as she could with Sharon before she passed away in 2006.
Over the years, Sharon branched out into pencil and charcoal sketches. Next, she tried her hand at acrylic painting -- on anything from canvas to stones.
This is the first overhaul of her website since 2010. While she still offers images in chalk, she has grown to love working in acrylics, and these are the works she is featuring.
